4-day Satellites $1212.50 (incl. GST and affiliation fee)
5-day Satellites $1327.50(incl. GST and affiliation fee)
Affiliation Fees:
Every tournament entry includes a non-refundable affiliation fee of $200.00 (incl GST) and is payable on receipt of invoice and by no later than 1st June 2025 for Satellite Tournaments.
In the extreme event that a tournament, (or tournaments), should be cancelled, schools will be offered a refund of entry fees paid excluding affiliation fee.

Eligibility
Under 19 as at the 1st January 2025.
Please ensure you adhere to the School Sport NZ Eligibility Guidelines when registering players. Of particular importance are the limits on new to school players and overseas players. Only Year 9 – 13 students are eligible for all NZSS Boys Football satellite tournaments. All teams attending our tournaments are bound to abide by the School Sport NZ Integrity Framework and Code of Conduct.
Entry Procedure

An invoice for the tournament entry fee will be emailed once the entry process is complete and teams have been allocated to tournaments.

Entry Process
New Zealand Secondary School Boys Football Association organises five national satellite tournaments with open entry to all boys’ secondary school football teams in New Zealand. There are three tournaments limited to a maximum of 24 teams that are played over five days usually in the North Island. With the two other tournaments being limited to a maximum of 20 teams, played over four days usually at South Island venues. In addition, there is the 2nd XI Development and Junior Tournaments played over four days.
Due to the popularity and demand for places at some tournament venues, in 2023 the NZSSBFA National Executive reviewed the “first in” entry process and decided to replace it with the following entry process: -
- The satellite tournament entries will remain open for a one-week period, for 2025 entries will open at midday on 1st May and will close at 5pm on 8th May 2025.
- Schools will be emailed a link to the online entry form
- As part of the entry process, schools will enter their preferred tournament venue but will also be asked to nominate a different second-choice tournament venue. (This does not apply for the Junior and 2nd XI Development Tournaments).
- Once entries close, NZSS Football will allocate teams to satellite tournaments based on the following criteria (numbers in brackets refer to 16 team tournaments):-
- 8 (4) teams based on previous year’s satellite result
- 8 (4) teams allocated at NZSS Football discretion, consideration will be given to premier tournament non-qualifiers, tournament host teams and teams willing to travel long distance to obtain a geographical spread
- 8 (8) teams by ballot
- Any schools that miss out on both their preferred tournament venues will be contacted by NZSS Football to discuss possible tournament options.
- A waitlist will operate for all tournaments once tournaments are full, and entries are closed. Schools will be contacted by our office in order they are waitlisted, should a place become available.
- To secure a place at a satellite tournament the entry fee (including a non-refundable $200.00 affiliation fee) must be received by the due date (refer to the Terms and Conditions of Entry). Should our tournaments be cancelled due to a pandemic schools will be offered a refund of the entry fee portion of payments received.
- NZSS Football will aim to issue a confirmed final list of entries for all tournaments by the end of May or as soon as practicable after that date (excluding places reserved for the Premier Tournament nonqualifiers). The list will be emailed to schools and will be available on NZSS Football’s website.

The tournament entry fee is due by 1st June and includes a non-refundable affiliation fee of $200. Refunds will not be paid for any withdrawals after this date.
Entry numbers are strictly limited. Entries are deemed accepted once full payment has been received by NZSS Boys Football (including any outstanding debts).
Confirmation of entry will be made by NZSS Boys Football, by email, once tournament entries are finalised. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact nzssfootball@gmail.com
A waitlist will operate for all tournaments once full and closed. Schools will be contacted in the order they are waitlisted should a place become available.
Schools that withdraw from a satellite tournament after the Friday of the last week of term 2 will forfeit their tournament entry fee and will be excluded from entering any tournament for one year. NZSS Boys Football may consider “exceptional circumstances” to waive the stand-down.
Officials
Tournament organisers cannot guarantee they will be able to provide all referees. Schools may be requested to provide a referee. Should this be required NZSS Boys Football will contact you following the tournament, to discuss any refund due.
